This is a series of pages designed to accompany a workshop by Melissa Jakubec for UVic.
In this workshop, we will explore strategies and tools to enrich your face to face ESL classes with online activities and resources. We will explore how you can use blended learning to increase your students’ interaction with content, their teacher and each other. You will learn how to use SPLOTS (simplest possible learning online tools) developed at TRU to engage students with WordPress blogs by sharing their thoughts and images without needing to log in. These tools can be used for shared journals, reader response exercises and photo activities or essays. We will also explore tools to facilitate collaborative writing activities.
